For THE FUTURE OF Parry Sound—Muskoka

The future of the region depends on the creation of opportunities for people, support for small business, local investment in people and infrastructure, and the protection of natural resources. 

I look forward to the opportunity to discuss issues and concerns personally with you over the coming weeks. I am always available for a conversation.

Let’s keep the riding blue. We know the Liberals have been strategizing to get Parry Sound-Muskoka back, and I have the skill set, experience and vision to take it into the next phase of Canada’s political future.

Parry Sound-Muskoka boasts great physical beauty, tremendous economic potential and hard working, good, honest people with whom I am proud to have grown up.

I also look forward to sharing my ideas about how these things can be accomplished, to draw from my experience in the business world to bring fresh thinking to old problems and to work together to see Parry Sound-Muskoka achieve all of its great potential and continue to thrive.

MY PRIORITIES

In my recent travels, I have heard from many of the residents in Parry Sound-Muskoka, and I share your concerns. As your voice in Ottawa, my first priorities will be:

Lowering taxes and controlling Government spending. Individuals and small businesses need to be left to thrive without external pressures, and to make their own decisions about how to spend their hard-earned money. Government spending must be controlled, and personal and corporate taxes must be reduced.

Revitalizing the riding. The area has tremendous environmental and economic potential, which I will tap to encourage growth in small business and investment in local infrastructure that will create year-round employment.

Retaining and nurturing our resources. Our future lies in our young entrepreneurs. I will work to create opportunities for people, especially young people, to remain in or return to the region, and provide resources and support for new business start ups, leading to good and innovative jobs and affordable living.

Stopping the Carbon Tax. The environment, ecological sustainability and the natural beauty of the region is a critical priority, but the Liberal carbon tax is an ineffective way to protect it, and unnecessarily costs Canadian individuals and businesses. Reducing our carbon footprints can be great for the economy and the environment when it is accomplished  through: (i) the development and implementation of emerging technology by bright Canadian minds working right here in Parry Sound-Muskoka, (ii) educating Canadians about their environmental impact, (iii) conservation, and (iv) thoughtful emission regulations.
